Got a letter from the IRS or the state? Let’s talk before it gets worse.

Our Enrolled Agents have spent more than 20 years working with the IRS and state agencies. We’ll explain what the letter means, what your options are, and what we’d do next.

NO UP-FRONT FEE TO REVIEW YOUR SITUATION
Bring us the letter. We’ll look at it with you before you commit to anything.
Please don’t send Social Security numbers or tax documents through our website form — we’ll set up a secure way to share them.

We help with

  • IRS & state notices
  • Tax audit support
  • Penalty abatement

WHY AN ENROLLED AGENT?

Licensed by the IRS to stand between you and the IRS.

Enrolled Agents are federally licensed tax professionals with unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS — on audits, collections, and appeals. That means once you sign a power of attorney, the IRS talks to us, not you.

When a case gets stuck, we also know when and how to bring in the Taxpayer Advocate Service.

A note on scope: we represent clients in IRS and state tax matters. EFS is not a CPA firm, so we don’t provide financial-statement audits, reviews, or attestation.

How we work a tax problem

  1. 1Review the letterWe read the notice with you, find the deadline, and explain what the agency is asking for.
  2. 2Get the full pictureWith your authorization, we pull your IRS transcripts to see balances, filings, and collection status.
  3. 3Lay out your optionsEasy to understand choices — what each involves, what it costs, and what we recommend.
  4. 4Represent youWe deal with the IRS or state on your behalf and keep you updated until it’s resolved.

Just got a letter? Do this now.

  • Don’t ignore it. Most notices have a response deadline.
  • Don’t panic. Many notices can be resolved with the right response.
  • Keep the envelope and letter together. The notice number (like CP2000 or LT11) tells us a lot.
  • Call us before you call the IRS. We’ll help you understand what you’re walking into.

What we won’t do

  • Promise to settle your debt for “pennies on the dollar.”
  • Guarantee an outcome before we’ve seen your records — no honest firm can.
  • Pressure you into paying before we’ve reviewed your situation.
  • Leave you guessing about where your case stands.

Tax resolution FAQs

Can you talk to the IRS for me?

Yes. Once you sign IRS Form 2848 (power of attorney), our Enrolled Agents can speak with the IRS on your behalf.

Do you handle state tax problems too?

Yes. We work with state and local tax agencies as well as the IRS.

What does it cost?

There’s no up-front fee to look at your situation. After we review it, we’ll tell you what the work involves before you decide.

I haven’t filed in a few years. Is it too late?

No. We can help you prepare the missing returns and address any balances, penalties, or notices that come with them.

You don’t have to face the IRS alone.

Talk to an Enrolled Agent. It’s confidential, and there’s no up-front fee to review your situation.
